תַּרְבָּא

תְּרָב, תַּרְבָּא,(תְּרֵיב) m. (רְבֵי) fat, esp. = h. חֵלֶב, (forbidden) abdominal fat. Targ. Lev. 3:3. Ib. 17 (Y. תריב); a. fr.Bekh.30a top ת׳ דאטמא the fat of the flank (on the kidneys). Ḥull.93a, v. קְלִיבוּסְתָּא. Ib. תלתא משום ת׳ three (of the membranes) are forbidden as coming under the category of fat; a. fr.Pl. תַּרְבַּיָּיא, תַּרְבִּין. Targ. Lev. 8:26.
